Description

Villa degli Elfi lies among hills scattered with olive and cyprus trees. This casale dates back to the 13th century and was an old watch tower which later became a monastery and today has been lovingly restored and equipped with all comforts. Located on Cortona's hill, this Villa offers a stunning view across the Chiana valley to the Mount Amiata. Villa degli Elfi is close to numerous Medieval and Renaissance cities of central Italy and just a few minutes from Cortona. The house disposes of an automatic gate and is built on three floors. The ground floor consists of a large sitting room with an old stone fireplace, a double bedroom with a sofa and armchairs and a cosy bathroom. The first floor has a fully equipped kitchen, a large dining room with an antique table that seats 10 people as well as another beautiful open fireplace made of stone and chestnut. The sleeping area hosts a double bedroom with parquet floor and built-in wardrobe and an ensuite bathroom with a shower. The second floor has a reading area with large windows through which you can enjoy a breathtaking view of Cortona, a spacious bedroom with ensuite bathroom finely furnished with a wrought iron double bed, a small 18th century table, armchairs and parquet floors. This bedroom also has a wooden staircase that leads up to the mansard where there are 2 single beds and an en suite bathroom with shower, ideal for children and teenagers. The villa has an annex made up of a double room with ensuite bathroom with shower. The house looks onto a courtyard with a stone outbuilding consisting of a cooking corner fully equipped with a wood burning oven and ideal for cooking and enjoying your meals outdoors. The private swimming pool is framed by olive and holm-oak trees: here you can relax yourself and enjoy the beautiful surrounding countryside. Available for the guests are also a tennis table, bikes and a well equipped gazebo. Further there is a volleyball and mini-volleyball field and, if one wanted to, also for badminton at disposal of the guests. The net is of 6,50 m x 1m. In the close-by area there are tennis, soccer, swimming and riding facilities.
On the evening of the arrival guests will be welcome by an aperitif with Tuscan appetizers.

The villa was beautiful, spacious and well equipped, with a swimming pool, large garden and table tennis. We arrived on the Saturday and got married in Cortona on the Thursday and had a completely magical week. Terretrusche were unbelievable, making sure everything was perfect from the food the night before the wedding to the actual wedding day etc. The owner of the villa sent flowers before the wedding which was a lovely touch.
