At the border between Umbria and Tuscany, in Val di Pierle, the untouched landscape offers deep suggestions. Here, in a dominant position, lies Antico Setificio: today Bed and Breakfast, yesterday a villa from the XVIII century. The spacious and bright inside spaces offer breathtaking views of the valley and the whole setting in perfect harmony with the surrounding nature. Thanks to the incredible quality of the spaces, both internal and external, the unique and welcoming atmosphere of Antico Setificio becomes a natural must for those looking for authentic and out of the ordinary places. In the large, bright room on ground floor, with the original stone floors and the large windows overlooking the garden, we serve a full breakfast: cakes and handmade jams, coffee, tea, tea ... home-made sandwiches, eggs, yoghurt and fruit juices. On request we organize for our guests tasty midday snacks and drinks served in the gazebo. In the shade of a majestic pine, guests will find the old wood stove, a well equipped kitchen and a nice veranda for dinner “en plein air”. The beautiful table and the sofa create a relaxing Mediterranean atmosphere. There is so much green space for the guests, like a wide lawn filled with white mulberry tree, maritime pines, pomegranates, olives, cherry and fig trees, plum trees, sage, lavender, together with a magnificent view. The pool, without chlorine, is perfectly located, where the sun shines until late evening.. Bathing here is a regenerating experience! The white-painted wooden gazebo is ideal for romantic lunches or dinners. The annex, adjacent to the villa, was the old silkworm workshop (from which the villa derivates its name).Today this ancient space has been transformed into a versatile multipurpose space suitable to accommodate theater groups, workshops, academies of art and dance, yoga groups, conferences, events, exhibitions, festivals and weddings. Arranged on two floors, this annex has large and bright venues, but also unique and evocative. On the ground floor is the Blue Room and the Hall of Vaults while on the first floor is the Rural Theater. Villa L'Antico Setificio disposes of five suites:
On the first floor:
The room has an authentic red terracotta floor, walls of soft green and marble bathroom with shower. Interesting details of furniture: the beautiful blue niche with antique armoire, hand painted by the Piedmontese grandfather of the owner. Possibility of adding a third bed.
On the second floor there is a lovely large room with wooden floors and walls of jagged blue. A large carpet, a chair from the 70s and an old wardrobe complete the furnishings creating a simple and magical atmosphere. Possibility of adding a third / fourth bed. Always on the second floor: a small apartment will welcome you with the sweetness of its delicate colors: orange and light blue in the master bedroom - a real nest - green for the essential but functional kitchen which has been designed and built by owner with recovered materials. On the third floor: a beautiful loft room with white painted wooden beams hosts, large bathroom with old cast iron bathtub, and the rough brick floor give the room an authentic rural charm and hospitality the same time. Finally, cut out in the old tower, a large attic room, with white painted wooden beams offers a breathtaking view. Furnished with modern pieces of the '70s it has comfortable bathroom with shower.

I am an American yoga teacher with a branch of my yoga school here in Gubbio, Italy. I am writing to confirm that the practice space at is exceptionally beautiful and well adapted for yoga. It is what the Italians themselves might call a "suggestivo" space, which in English might be rendered "extremely atmospheric." In fact, I hope to shoot a small yoga film there myself in the not too distant future. Claudia and Luca are also friends, though this is not why I recommend the space so highly....
